If only it were as simple as spritzing the room with a magic spray to keep students focused and on task. While that miracle product may not exist, this gimmick is an effective alternative.

Classrooms buzzing with conversations and active learning are wonderful. However, there are times when the room needs to be quiet. When students are working on their writing craft or taking an assessment, it is important that students can concentrate and stay focused.

A squirt of quiet spray might be a fun addition to your "bag of tricks." This teacher just uses an empty bottle and let's the "squirt sound" be enough of a reminder as students are walking into the hall. It may also be cute to bring out before assessments or during quiet work times to spray the room.
